Re-Cut Horror is a type of re-cut trailer in which a drama, comedy, or children's movie is depicted as a horror film. Darkly-lit, sinister, or seemingly violent footage from the original film is used, and horror music is dubbed over the dialog. A narrator's voice is also often added to make the edit more convincing.
The disconnect between what is expected from familiar material and what is implied in the re-cut horror trailer is often hilarious.
